A girl in the front row admiresher press-on nails, a dizzying sheen

of rhinestones and whisps of citrine.

The warm, low pitch of a peerI have asked to read; chants in tones

and half tones – making meaning.

I watch as she follows, her forefinger

tendril and vine – accidental

illuminator bejeweling lines.
